This month, we’re celebrating 5 years of Destiny Architecture! (Heartfelt letter time! Here’s some of my story).

Am I ever excited to still be here after starting DestinyArchitecture.com five years ago! I began the website while still completing my 100-hour Transformational Life Coaching Certification at the Southwest Institute of the Healing Arts, which I was awarded in early 2017.

I started Destiny Architecture after a couple years of sober coaching in a recovery center, a detox, and county jail. I loved coaching addicts on sobriety, but I felt there was a bigger audience out there and more coaching skills I could obtain.

The fact that I’m still here with a coaching practice in 2021 is amazing!

I refused to let go of this dream of mine.

Even through poverty (turns out detoxing people doesn’t pay much) I never gave up on creating coaching and Reiki content, offering coaching sessions, building a Reiki Patreon, and starting the Fearless 5 Podcast.

BTW — the Fearless 5 Podcast is about to turn 2 this month! 170+ episodes and still going strong!

There were times I was so poor, I didn’t have home Internet or a car. I’d listen to coaching podcasts while commuting by city bus. I’d work on the website in coffee shops or at home using the hotspot on my cell phone. I’d bring my laptop to detox and work on the website during my 30-minute lunch breaks.

When a pandemic came along, I took my coaching and Reiki practice 100% online, leaving my beloved White Dove (and Dale) after six years. Then I got covid in January, which was serious. But I made it! Covid changed my body and life to the point I had no choice but to switch careers from TV journalism to…anything I could do from home.

Guess what I learned?

I’ve been working from home for a couple months now. I returned to my first love —radio— which I also do from home. I work a half day for a digital marketing company based on the West Coast. Becoming location-independent had been a goal for years! This wasn’t an “overnight success” just because I got covid and had to pivot immediately to part-time work from home. I had worked toward this since 2015.

I never gave up. I always knew WHAT I was working toward and WHY I was doing it.

No matter what sh*t sandwich life handed me, I kept going. I kept trying, failing, making mistakes — and learning from them.
Now I get to live as I choose, make my own schedule, and decide where I want to live. I get to spend more time than ever working on Destiny Architecture — my passion — because I’ve given myself the gift of time freedom.
